Trip to the Cathedral

On Friday the first of July Saint Pius X School went to Saint Patrick Cathedral in Auckland city.  We went there by bus.  It was the most special trip because this was the year of mercy.

Once we arrived we hurried up to the Cathedral. We practised our song while we were waiting to go inside the Cathedral. I entered the church, I felt enthusiastic and keen because I couldn’t wait to learn about Cathedral. Before we got settled I blessed myself with the holy water.     

When father Larry had finished saying his part it was time for the bread and wine to be blessed. As soon as people were walking up to receive communion we started to sing.  Motu began us of with our song then the rest of us joined him. We all sang our best and we were so proud of ourselves. We took a photograph with father Larry. Then he talked to us about the Cathedral.

Last of all, on our way out we sang a song and blessed ourselves with the holy water again. I was hungry but we had to wait for everyone to walk out of the Cathedral before heading to have lunch. Next the bus had finally arrived and we went back to school lazily.
