Bonus: During the ancient Olympic Games, men were allowed to compete in the events but women were not. In fact, women were often forbidden from even watching the games. In your opinion, is this a fair rule? Why or why not? On your blog please tell us what you think about this interesting rule.
Answer: In my own opinion, I don't think that it's being fair on women that they were trying to limit what women were capable of. I feel that women and men should be equally the same and never limit anyone from what they are able to do. Nowadays, lots of women are an inspiration to others to participate in the Olympics, like Valerie Adams, Serena Williams and so much more. So I strongly disagree with what they had done in the past.
I couldn't agree with you more, Anthony. I also think that this rule was very unfair and that women should have been allowed to participate in the games. They are equally capable of competing in athletic events and I think that they should have been invited to demonstrate their skills. Fortunately, the modern day Olympic committee agrees with us and they allow both men and women to compete in the games.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I am already getting excited to watch our Olympic athletes compete in Rio. I will definitely be watching both the men's and the women's events. What about you?
Cheers, Rachel :)
