Activity 2: It is very expensive for each of the Paralympic athletes to fly from New Zealand to Rio de Janeiro to compete. Most athletes have to fundraise in order to make the money that they need to go on the big trip. Recently, Harvey Norman announced that they will be helping to raise funds for the New Zealand Paralympic team. What could you do to help raise funds to support our amazing Paralympic athletes? On your blog, list 2 different ways in which you, your family or friends could raise money to support the athletes. \
1) First way I would like to help raise
money is by doing a car wash. I would set the prices at a suitable rate for people
to afford as every dollar counts. I can also
offer vacuuming cars at $15 and the car
wash at a amount of $10. From doing this
I am hopeful that the money I will be
able to earn will make a difference and
help the Paralympic Athletes.
2) Another way I would choose to helpraise money is by BounsTickets. Bouns
Tickets are tickets you can give as many
people you choose. From this I can charge
every person $20 per ticket. By finding
out who the winner is, is by watching the
Lotto. Who ever wins, they will receive a award.
Therefore the rest of the money that I earned through
the Bouns Tickets would go towards the Paralympic Athletes.
Great thinking, Anthony! I think that you will raise a lot of money for our Paralympic athletes through washing/vacuuming cars and through the 'Bonus Tickets' idea. We should have put your ideas into action last week when the Lotto was at a record breaking $40 million. I am pretty sure that we could have sold hundreds of tickets for that lottery!
