Holiday Writing - Rugby Game

Last Saturday, my league team, “Pakuranga Jaguars” was badly beaten by the “Otara Scorpion’s” team.  The most humiliating thing was that we got sassed at our own homeground.

When my team gathered in the changing room I felt worried because I knew that we were going to lose our game. Our coach was angus cause when we finish gathering he shouted to us “GET OUT”. When we were on the field we were practicing our actions. Then the coach called us to come in, I felt bad, but likely I had no mouth guard so I was excited.

While I was watching my team play Otra Scorpion I saw a lot of mistakes, overlaps and missed tackles. As soon as the Otara Scorpions started trying against us I just wanted to get the sub on the field. So our manager grabbed me a mouth guard from the club.  As soon as the second half started I played second row.

When it was full time we got badly beaten by Otara 50-0. Our coach told us that he has nothing else to say because every time we are at training we don’t listen and play around that’s why we lost to Otara.

  2. Hey Anthony,
That is a great piece of writing! You guys really tried your best to win against the opposing team. It reminds me of when we versed a team called Papatoetoe Panthers, we lost in our own home ground too.
Keep it up and remember to be determined in all your games, play as if it is your last game.
